Creating a new composition from random sketches and drawings

If you’ve seen some of my posts here, you will already know that my primary art forms include traditional forms like painting and drawing and new media works that are derived from my paintings and drawings. A few years ago, rifling through some old drawings and doodles that I had saved, I decided to scan some of them for my own reference and for posterity. Many alone would never see the light of day in their current form because primarily they were ideas, tidbits. So having come across a few of the scans on my hard drive, processed a couple to see how filters would change or complete them. I’ve run many works through filters on gimp and through the deep dream neural network, in fact, several thousand – most get tossed or if they are saved reworked. This week 2 separate drawings – 1 a pencil drawing of a woman and a full-colour pastel drawing of a detail from a building that was adorned with a gargoyle type creature (think it is from Glastonbury, may possibly be from Wells, England) went through a mosaic filter and I combined them – enough words now the art –

My process for new media works include creating an original painting or drawing and then digital manipulation then bringing the digital work back into the physical reality.
